Hi everyone,

I have been a Fedora user for almost a decade now. I am advised that this is
the correct forum where I can propose contributions and changes to the
GetFedora website.

The GetFedora.org pages for Server and Cloud are okay. However, the one for
Fedora Workstation [1] has been bothering me for a long time now. There are
some aspects of it that I've found disturbingly bad and in serious need of
change. Luckily, they're easily replaceable components of the webpage.

Right now, the Workstation page has a very good introduction at the top ("This
is the Linux workstation you've been waiting for") followed by a good
introduction ("Fedora Workstation is a reliable [...] corporate environments.")

However, what comes after that is the problem: the Workstation has a bunch of
sentences that either make very specific technical references or in general
contribute little value to selling the project. These could be fixed by
focusing on a more general introduction to the desktop environment, daily-use
features, and cutting-edge differences that separate Fedora from other desktop
operating systems.

The most critical problem I have with the website are the photos: they're
incredibly bad. The photos are of, literally, decade-old ThinkPads that are
completely covered in dirt and dust, running Fedora. It's like a caricature of
a Linux distro website. I find that to be very off-putting and unprofessional.
These photos should be replaced quickly and I can't believe they've been on the
website every time I've gone to download a Fedora image over the past two
years! They can at least be replaced with photos of clean ThinkPads, and better
yet, laptops where what's actually on the screen is an interesting Fedora
use-case that is clearly visible in the photo.

If anyone can point me to the correct repository for the website, I will make
pull requests with suggestions to make the website more reasonable, and I will
also contribute content and try to make the page more useful and accessible to
people interested in Fedora. Right now, the website seems to be made by Fedora
users and seems to target people who *already* use Fedora, which is very
near-sighted and ultimately a bad strategy.

Regards,
Nadim
