Certainly not too late since IIRC not one of this class of apps has
formally integrated yet (read: available in /release)

The way to make a standard is to run an ARC case for a representative
app of this kind and integrate it into /release (SFW for now). That
case can set the precedent for all others to follow. Since the stuff
going into /contrib (and /webstack) is unsupported it doesn't get any
review nor set a precedent.

(Well technically you just need to run the ARC case to set the
precedent, not integrate, but might as well go all the way.)

I'd very much like to do this for one of these apps so we set the
guidelines for others to follow. It'd be great if you volunteer your
time and Drupal to be the pioneer here ;-) I'd do it myself but don't
have the time...  I can help you draft the ARC case and sponsor if you
pick up the dev work, however.
