1) I un init the ldapclient and then ldapsearch still works, I am pretty sure ldapsearch is independant and does not rely on any config files.
2) I tends to beleive it but I dont understand I am the first one to report it, apache with ldap support is pretty common.. 3) When I tried blastwave, I compiled my own apache. Now that you mentioned it, I will try a full blown blastwave stack (without compiling anything...).
