Hi I was wondering, if we can provide a structured way with appropriate authentication and authorization privileges so that customers of OpenSolaris can use a common URI to get stats information for various components within AMP stack like Apache , MySQL or PHP. For example, we can provide a URI like /stats protected by password that would allow user to check apache status (using mod_status) or APC stats within php etc.
Does this sound reasonable to do ? If yes, can this be implemented in time for OpenSolaris 2008.11 release ? If this does sound reasonable, these are thing that need to be done a) decide on a URI name b) deliver a sample mod_status.conf that can provide apache statistics. b) also agree on a location that will contain other sample scripts like apc stats - that are accessible with a common URI. It is still possible to get it done in time for build 100 , if we all can agree to it. For folks within Sun, I have filed bugs - (CR: 6727053, 6727056) to track this issue. Any comments ?
