One thing we'd like to do for Apache in the Webstack is to bundle popular/useful third-party[1] modules as packages for users.
This is an area where we're playing catchup with other packagers such as Linux, FreeBSD, and to even Windows (up to a point). The good news is that it's cheap: most modules won't require very much effort to package, and I hope to do a better job than much of the competition of ensuring they're adequately documented.
