Hi Steve, 1.8.7 has had many issues for which a lot of frequent patches have been coming in, we're waiting for that traffic to subside/stabilize. Secondly, Rails doesn't recommend Ruby 1.8.7 yet.
We've had Solaris performance patches accepted into 1.8.7. For now, both webstack and coolstack have these patches applied directly to our shipping version. (I didn't find any more performance enhancements for Solaris in 1.8.7 other than what we've put in) Hence we're waiting a bit to bundle Ruby 1.8.7. -ps Steven M.
