Does apache support conditionals (similar to the IfModule) which could be leveraged to make this kind of choice at start time? It'd be nice to ship optimized configuration for specific Sun hardware platforms (+ a generic one) and have the best available chosen at run time. (If apache does not yet support a mechanism to do that, it'd be a nice enhancement to do. Nick?) > will be a good starting point for our customers. This would seem more Well with SVR4 postinstall it would've been easy, but that's no longer relevant. The filters IPS intends to introduce could also be used, although I don't know how if the currently planned attributes are going to be specific enough for this level of selection. You should check out the current IPS RFEs and if there isn't one that seems to fit this need, file one to track that. -- Jyri J. Virkki - jyri.virkki at sun.com - Sun Microsystems
