Hi For better usability, I was wondering, if we should create symbolic links under Apache2 and Ruby components so that bin or lib points to the latest version of the component , in the same way as we do Perl , MySQL or PHP5. Also, on the same line - the most popular component binaries could also be linked to /usr/bin so that customers can easily find them. Any thoughts / concerns ?
thanks sriram Here is a snippet as to the current structure [sn123202 at htpasswd]'sn123202'>ls /usr{/apache2/,/mysql,/postgres/,/ruby/,/squid,/php5/}/ /usr/apache2//: 2.2 /usr/mysql/: 5.0 bin docs include lib man mysql-test share sql-bench /usr/php5//: 5.2.4 bin doc include lib man modules /usr/postgres//: 8.2 /usr/ruby//: 1.8 /usr/squid/: bin libexec man sbin share
