The current compiler in the Nevada CBE (Common Build Environment) and that is used in building Nevada is in Studio 11 plus a certain set of patches (the patch set will soon rev in order to fix a bug that affects Xen). There is work on moving to Studio 12[1] (a built version of the ON consolidation is undergoing testing in ON's PIT) but from I heard recently, there is no timetable as of yet for the switch. My recommendation for the interim is to use the default compiler options that SFW sets in Makefile.master unless it's been ascertained that a change is warranted. dsc [1] Yes, Studio 12 does ship with Solaris Express Developer Edition but it's not currently meant to be used to build OpenSolaris.
