If all the interfaces are changing then all the interfaces need to be listed. My group has to do this for each release of the GNOME stack. I know it is a pain but it makes the case complete. > John Fischer wrote: > > Amanda, > > > > The interface table should include the changed interfaces > > within Ruby Gem. Since this is only an update to the latest and greatest release of Ruby Gem then Micro would be fine. However, when you run the next case to remove the Obsolete interfaces that must be a Minor or Major release. > > Are we to expect a follow up case to remove the deprecated > > interfaces from the WOS? > > > > Yes, I'll follow the procedure specified at > http://opensolaris.org/os/community/arc/policies/obsolete-eof/ Great. > > > The following statement: > > > > > >> These scripts will be removed with the expiry of the > >> one year timer that starts after acceptance of this ARC > >> case. > >> > > > > seems to indicate that Ruby Gem is not shipping in a supported > > release. So yes they are in a supported release, but we are not sure > how the ARC process and release bindings apply when it comes to > OpenSolaris (the micro release binding from the original arc case adds > to the uncertainty). So this is a Minor release of Solaris. What is interesting for the committee is the discussion about Open Solaris being a release and the future case removing the Obsolete interfaces. That is for the future case unless this case is also seeking approval for the removal. The reason why it is interesting is because it tends to set a precedent in that the interface was introduced in a Minor release of Solaris (2008.05 or 2008.11) and then removed in a Minor release of Solaris (2009.??). This in reality is still the same Micro release of Solaris which is a slight change in the Obsolete rules. Again, unless this case is also seeking the approval to remove we can hold off on that discussion. > Thanks > > Amanda > > > Thanks, > > > > John > > > > On Mon, 2009-01-05 at 18:26, Jyri Virkki wrote: > > > >> I am sponsoring this case for Amanda Waite for the Web Stack Project. > >> Timeout is set to 01/13/2009 > >> > >> > >> Template Version: @(#)sac_nextcase %I% %G% SMI > >> This information is Copyright 2009 Sun Microsystems > >> 1.
