And by the way, the video I made focused more on the Package Manager / add-contrib-repo-to-list-of-catalogs aspect, less on the Web Stack aspect of things, in order to keep the video as crisp and short as I reasonably could.
I think it would be great if somebody (*else*) did a similar video, but focused a little more on the Web Stack contribution to the solution. Take a different (maybe similar) open source app that like Drupal, uses the Web Stack. Launch OpenSolaris and have the contrib repo pre-populated. Refer to my video for instructions on how that package catalog got there in the first place. Select the app in question. Point out the dependencies on AMP components. Show how to find the webstackui package and start installing it. Cut to the end of that install, show the "Web Stack Initialize" menu, all that stuff, then go back to the web-based installer for the open source app. That's my thought; I hope somebody will pick it up and make a little video. If it's longer than 10 minutes, I think we lose an audience. 5-10 minutes seems like a sweet spot to me: enough time to teach people something, not so much time as to lose the audience. Okay, enough rambling; thanks for listening. George -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
