Hi Marc
That file is part of org.apache.tapesty library that we use so it's not
something that i'm going to be able to modify without a hassle. I've
given jWebUnit a try to see how that works and I can get it past this
point so I think I'm going to use that package this time around and save
canoo for a non tapestry app.

the failing code is in your external file

Can you provide it, or best reduce it to the smallest code allowing to
reproduce the problem?
