To start out,
1)look at the selftest examples and manual http://webtest.canoo.com/webtest/manual/manualOverview.html ; 2) the xml files are your test. Look at the example at http://webtest.canoo.com/webtest/manual/samples.html . Look at SimpleTest.xml. It has invoke - executes a request to a particular URL and verifyTitle - asserts on the URL's header. This case has a login page, but it doesn't need to be. You can choose the URL.

hello there,
i m quite new to testing and i just got to now about canoo i just downloaded 
the build and doc files extracted them , set the path variables as said and got 
my installtest.xml in command prompt success, its all good untill now
but now i dont know how to get started with my application i need to test my 
web applications and donno where and how to start i reffered the site 
completely it just talks about the xml syntax  to be written, but i dont know 
how appropriate these xml files will be to my application , i need to test them 
as soon as possible and didnt get started yet , i would be really thankful if i 
could have a small method/way shown to start testing my applications
i am eagerly waiting for the solution
