I have upgraded POI to 3.0.1-FINAL. This version of POI has quite a few fixes in it but now doesn't contain a local fix from an earlier version of WebTest. I thought it had been fixed in 3.0.1-FINAL be just retested and the bug remains - it's a manual test involving a web server so didn't show up in the selftests.
I have re-opened the bug in POI's bugzilla issue tracker and will either re-create a patched jar for WebTest or replace it with 3.0.2 when it comes out. If anyone has problems, please revert back to the previous version. The issue is only related to testing Excel files and won't affect you if you are testing files from the file system - only ones directly from a web server and then usually not ones server up as static content - just ones produced dynamically and then only if no intermediate buffering hides the issue. I will be away from my home system for most of the coming week but will hopefully be able to provide the fixed jar when I return late in the week.
