you have all the power of ant at your disposal - the "fork" to me
implies another ant task, etc. but that is the most obvious solution;
the test may need something more complicated. along these lines, I
have to deal with horribly created / formatted web pages - i am having
to use a grep task to parse out URLs I need in subsequent webtest steps
from the result pages b/c htmlunit can't find the right link

With a new browser? In this case, you can use selectWebClient. In a new
window of the same browser? In this case 1 or 2 lines of script will be
needed to simulate that.
