Hi,
I am currently evaluating test automation tools. So which browser does WebTest support?
According to this page it says:
browser
    Required? No, default is "InternetExplorer6"
    Specifies the browser that should be simulated. Allowed values are Firefox3 (or FF3) (deprecated), Firefox3.6 (or FF3.6), Firefox10 (or FF10), InternetExplorer6 (or IE6), InternetExplorer7 (or IE7), InternetExplorer8 (or IE8).

Is that all? Those are pretty old browsers only. Or might this documentation be outdated only?

If WebTest is based on HtmlUnit (currently version 2.15). Shouldn't its supported browser be the same like HtmlUnit? In HtmlUnit you can specify the browser by the WebClient constructor using a BrowserVersion constant. Those would be:

http://htmlunit.sourceforge.net/apidocs/com/gargoylesoftware/htmlunit/BrowserVersion.html

Fields
Modifier and Type Field and Description
static BrowserVersion CHROME
Latest Chrome.
static BrowserVersion FIREFOX_17
Deprecated.
as of 2.14
static BrowserVersion FIREFOX_24
Firefox 24 ESR.
static BrowserVersion INTERNET_EXPLORER_11
Internet Explorer 11.
static BrowserVersion INTERNET_EXPLORER_8
Deprecated.
as of 2.14
static BrowserVersion INTERNET_EXPLORER_9
Deprecated.
as of 2.14

Another thing: How is it possible that WebTest is based on HtmlUnit 2.4 if HtmlUnit's latest version is 2.15 today?! That's really confusing.
(quote: WebTest 3.0 released, featuring upgrades to Java 5, Groovy 1.6, and HtmlUnit 2.4.
The release includes support for maven integration, IDE-integration like for unit tests, capturing of background _javascript_ errors, new steps for mouseOver and mouseOut events, better parallel execution of tests and - as usual - lots of handling improvements.

Any clearification is highly appreciated!

Thanks.

Best regards

Andreas
