*COMMENTARY By NORMON SOLOMON:* Who's to blame for the economic recession? For too many years and for too many unsavory reasons the government sanctified Wall St. financial institutions and in doing so gave them a free pass to become nothing more than gaming houses where any instrument, both real and bogus, were sold as legitimatized bets. With the realization that they could concoct their own schemes and betting lines for any instrument, such as derivatives that no one understood, and sell it in the billions so they bleed as much investment as could be garnered and put as much of it as possible in their own pockets until their pyramid scam collapsed.
