for the first time, AL FRANKEN TAKES THE LEAD

Former Saturday Night Live host Al Franken may still be able to make a joke out
of the US Senate. Franken has trailed Norm Coleman for the entire race,
recounts and all but this Friday he took the lead. The state canvassing board
is looking over ballots and even though he trailed on election night a bunch of
disputed ballots went Franken's way.

The Star-Tribune is trying to keep a running tally of the disputed and
challenged ballots and right now Franken is ahead by around 190 votes. The
paper's website then shows something labeled a ballot challenge projection and
that has Franken by 78 votes.

In case you are wondering this is indeed the same state that elected former
wrestler Jesse "The Body" Ventura as governor. Has the recount developed into
asideshow and what will be the final tally. Right now both sides are claiming
they will come out on top.

A Coleman spokesman named Mark Drake told the NY Timers, "When it is finished,
Norm Coleman will still lead, and we believe, be re-elected to the United
States Senate.”
