Last night, I tried to purchase a book off of
half.com. When I went to pay for it with my credit card, the following
showed up on my screen: “We cannot complete your
order due to the following reason:
Your credit card issuer
has declined the charge. Banks will often
decline charges if the name, expiration date or zip code you
entered does not match the information o your billing statement.”
“To place your order, you must:
Update your credit card
information”
Each time I tried to purchase the book, this same
wording would come up. I quit trying after 5 tries and waited until
today. I tried 2 times, then I called my bank to see what the problem
was. To my utter amazement, ALL of the times that
I was told that my order could not be completed, I had been charged each and
every time. My bank had no contact phone number attached to any of the
withdrawals from my account. I was instructed to contact Ebay, which I
did by email, since they also have no phone number that you can call.
Please check this out so others will
not be wrongfully charged and go through the grief that I am going through.
As of this moment, 2/3/09 @ 2:38pm,
I still have not had a reply from Ebay and do not know where I stand.
