I saw Obama's speech...........it was great!! Seriously, I wasn't even planning on watching all of it but when he started talking, I just could not turn it off! It was great!! I didn't see Jindal's speech but I did see a few minutes of it while channel surfing. Barbara Boxer said it did seem like he hadn't seen Obama's speech when he said something like...........don't let anyone tell you that America can't do great things! haha............I guess he thinks democrats are too negative. Not true! He would have known that if he had bothered to watch it! In fact, because of Obama's speech, it didn't leave much room for republicans to say anything to the contrary because it was so positive! Olbermann and Matthews also said it was great because when he talked about Iraq, even McCain gave him a standing ovation!! And another thing............they say that in the current situation which is the republican fiasco, Jindal and the other republicans are going back to their base. Instead of trying to appeal to moderates, they're taking a hard right! And since only about 30% of voters consider themselves republicans nowadays, they're not going to win many elections until they begin to appeal to more than just their base! But if they don't want to win elections anymore...........that's ok with me too! Oh yeah, and when the camera showed a shot of Boehner, it reminded me of something Jon Stewart said the other day. He suggested he should lay off the tanning treatments. He said, the guy is from Ohio and he works in DC! Did it catch you as odd that The Republican Bobby Jindel had no idea about Obama's speech before the folksy opposition chat? But it was appropriate that the Repugs would pick a Palin era wannabe to give it. At least this one can put a whole sentence together and not totally put a foot in his mouth before throwing some more beads to the crowd. Odd the message was don't trust the Govt to help you out. Isn't that was Katrina victims already knew about the Bush administration? Hannity is already calling it baloney. Does Fox still have an audience?
