I always knew it was much worse than any of us ever imagined. Since that administration valued secrecy and loyalty above all else, it's logical to assume we were not told everything they had been doing.
I also heard that if they determined a person to be a terrorist suspect, they could enter your home while you were not there and look through your personal things and then leave.
