To me, that's one of the best things about being here is free medical and Rx. Admittedly, it's not the highest QUALITY care - rather lackadaisical. It's as though I have to ASK for any tests to be done so not nearly as aggressive a course as my US docs pursued. As it happened, there was nothing to worry about - cardiac-wise but it was a great comfort to get the confirmation when I was tested in California. It's just not nearly so easy to get an appt. in UK. In Calif, I was covered by Medicare and Medi-Cal, so I had to pay nominal token amounts for Rx but nothing for hospital or little or nothing for doc visits. In some ways, it's an advantage to be poor.
Still, I was mighty pissed at the doc who said, we believe it's cancer unless proven otherwise. That scared the living crud outta me until the neg results came back. He was dumb enough to prescribe meds that caused my blood sugar to RISE when I'm clearly on those that LOWER it. Stupid! Needless to say, I didn't stay with him for my GYN care. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "WebTV Dawgs/Dittos" group.
