Mainly because it was my 10th year there and I didn't want to give up the 4 weeks vacation that I earned from being there so long. Eventually something happened that just pushed me over the edge..........so I quit! I went on a few interviews and ultimately decided to work for DirecTV! When they made me a job offer, they gave me less money (about $2.00 less per hour) and I already figured I would not get 4 weeks of vacation so that was not a suprise. I've now been working there for about 2 weeks now and I think it's going to work out very well! Yes, I'm making less per hour but I also make a better differential benefit (better than Avis paid) since I work nights! Plus, once I actually start working (I'm still in training right now), they have a good incentive plan for making even more money! Tonight I got my first paycheck and I'm now making the same (if not a little more) than when I was at Avis. Plus, my first year there, I get 3 weeks of vacation!! Also DirecTV has a pension plan as well as a 401k! Avis did not have a pension plan. I feel very good about this move and I think it is going to work out very well. I still have one more week of training and after that I will be a level 1 Tech support agent. Cyn, if you're still having a problem with your DirecTV and I'll see if I can find a solution for you.......... Oh yeah, and after I've been there for 3 months, I get free DirecTV!!! It's a much stronger company than Avis!
