I was just watching a clip of Eric Cantor when he was on Washington Journal yesterday on CSPAN. He began talking about the system of checks and balances and how the govt works best when the opposition party can keep the other elements of govt in check.
Actually many democrats believe the same thing.........many of us said the same thing when the republicans blindly followed Bush in everything he did for 6 yrs! But Cantor did not stop there. He kept talking about checks and balances and went on to say that he (and his party) wants to bring the President back into the mainstream!! Hello? Uh, the President is the one who managed to get elected, along with many other democrats!! It's the republicans who lost seats in Congress! It seems to me that the democrats are already in the mainstream!
