"I'd like to know how many actual Canadians you've spoken to. Me, I've got a dozen relatives in Toronto and another dozen I know through balloon twisting. None of them would ever give up their healthcare for ours. It is a non profit system focused on people, not profits. It seems like you get most of your "news" from Fox news and not many other sources. Even Bob Dole and a host of other "old school" Republicans are calling for health care reform.
The idea that other countries with socialized care are all flocking to our country is a joke. Switzerland, Germany, France, Sweden, Japan, Italy, Canada.... they all have some kind of nationalized health care, yet I don't see our hospitals flooded with foreigners - do you? The facts are that we as Americans pay the most for care and receive sub-par treatment. The reason for that is that a huge chunk of our health care dollars go for profits to insurance companies, not health care. Where do you think the billion dollar profits of insurance companies come from? It comes from YOUR WALLET! Get yourself educated - read some sources that aren't Fox News or your local Republican politician - and get the facts about what's really going on. As far as Bush goes - I think we've all moved way past that argument.
