from another list....´ve never been a fan of Rush Limbaugh, even if I can´t stand most of his liberal critics. I thought it was pretty sick when some Lefties cackled at his heart scare a couple of weeks back - but his comments about Haiti are just plain revolting. Tens of thousands of people die in agony, and Limbaugh uses the incident to score points about Obama and skin colour, for Christ´ s sake? The caller answered no and then Limbaugh continued "But would you trust that your name is gonna end up on the mailing list for the Obama people to start asking you for campaign donations for him and other causes?" The caller agreed and Limbaugh added another dig at the White House, " Besides, we´ve already donated to Haiti. It´s called the U.S. income tax." In the most controversial remarks made during the show, Limbaugh said, " This will play right into Obama´s hands. He´s humanitarian, compassionate. They´ll use this to burnish their, shall we say, `credibility´ with the black community - in the both light-skinned and dark-skinned black community in this country. It´s made-to-order for them." Actually, I reckon Limbaugh thought that jibe was "made-to-order" for his conservative constituency. Bad mistake. I´m sure a few white supremacist truckers with their heads full of amphetamines or Wild Turkey nodded in agreement when they heard those words, but decent conservatives will have been repelled. Put it this way: if Rush had croaked last month, that would have been sad for his family and his fans, but at least he wouldn´t have had this stain on his character. PS: Since posting this, I´ve had Twitter messages from conservatives saying Rush´s light-skinned/dark-skinned thing was a "running joke" about Harry Reid that I don´t get, and how dare I be rude about truckers.
