Two points of view that aren't as divergent as they may seem on first
viewing:

RABBI STEVEN Z. LEDER: "I Believe that captured terrorist should be treated
as an enemy combatant in a war against the United States of America. His
goal was to kill innocent civilians. In my view, being accorded the same
legal rights and constitutional privileges as a U.S. citizen would not be
commensurate with the crimes he committed. His tactics and intent were not
in compliance with either the Geneva Convention or what is commonly
understood as acceptable on the field of battle.  Make no mistake;
extremists like him are at war with us and our allies. Their goal is to
kill innocent civilians, and ultimately not only to disrupt, but to destroy
our freedoms, way of life and nation state. The best he deserves is to be
tried in a military court as an enemy combatant. Bad guys deserve to be
treated like bad guys."

MARTHA ZOLLER (Host of The Martha Zoller Show): "Upholding the Constitution
means doing so even when you don't agree with it. In the case of the
attempted bombing of Times Square, the terrorist is a naturalized US
Citizen, so he is entitled to due process and all rights under the
Constitution. That is a disappointment to me and many New Yorkers. However,
terrorists captured outside of our borders should be detained at GITMO and
tried by military tribunals. KSM should not be tried in NYC. He is an enemy
combatant captured on foreign soil and should be tried at GITMO. The
Supreme Court was clear when they struck down the original legislation for
military tribunals. The Bush Administration and the Democrat controlled
Congress went back and passed a Constitutional Military Tribunal law and it
should be followed."
