You might be a redneck if your child's teacher sends home part of a document
and the part starts off with the words. "We hold these truths to be
self-evident, that all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator
with certain unalienable rights." The teacher is asking the students to see
if their parents would sign the document and you say that you will not sign
it because much of it you do not understand and the rest you do not agree
with.
You might also be a redneck meeting with other rednecks. If you go around
the neighborhood showing people the document and getting them to sign a
petition to complain to the school board that their child's teachers are
exposing the children to such dangerous ideas. Those who sign might also be

Rebuttal <If you come home with a document that says "All men are created
equal" and the parents say that's not relevant in the modern world, they
might be progressives. If you say the constitution is a living breathing
document, you may be a progressive. If you say salvation has to be achieved
collectively, you may a Liberation theologian, not a Christian. If you
believe in social justice, rather then equal justice, you believe in
dividing people along lines of class and race, you are a Marxist. If a
President assumes federal control over two of the big auto companies, the
banking industry, school loans, all credit, and finance, and seeks to
control though regulation all energy production, then he is a socialist.
If you think the 1st amendment has a separation of church and state in it,
and protects us from church intrusion, you got a progressive education. If
you think the 2nd amendment created the national guard, and lets you go
hunting, ditto. If you think the 9th and 10th amendments were made obsolete
by the Civil War, ditto again. If you think the commerce clause gives
Congress the power to force individuals to buy insurance, you must think
Obama can walk on water.
So if you believe in some or all of these things, it puts you in the
Marxist progressive camp. For over 100 years the progressives have tried to
break our links to the Founders and the Constitution. They have tried to
rewrite history, in fact, the term revisionism was coined by a progressive
in 1903. Amazing that the progressives who hate the Constitution, and have
worked so hard to destroy its true meaning, love to twist it for their own
purpose. At the time of the founding, 9 states had official state churches;
now, a school can't sanction a prayer?
So talk all you want about rednecks not recognizing the Declaration,
Russell, progressives, and Marxists are far more dangerous. Besides your
progressive President Woodrow Wilson said the Declaration was just a
meaningless list of grievances. Remember, progressives have to get rid of it
because it says that our rights come from God. As for racism, nothing is
more racist than the welfare state. Was that created by rednecks or
