I have been thinking about it. In addition to running a consulting business,
I am the new CTO of a start-up called eAttache. We are developing a software
package, both server and client entirely in python. We have plans for a
version of the server interface(currently in Tkinter) to be written in
webware. The server runs on MySQL or PostgreSQL and communicates "web
services style" via SOAP with the client programs which run on wireless IPAQ
type handhelds running linux. I thought about writing a paper, but I think a
presentation with a Q and A outlining our Python decision making process and
details about the good, bad, ugly and really great things about developing a
large project in python is a good idea too.
I'd be willing to do part of a WebWare presentation, or work with someone to
expand my presentation to include a detailed Webware section.
Also, very soon, I am going to be looking for some good python coders to join
the core team. We are located the the Wash D.C. area, so if you are
interested, email me off the list.
Thanks,
Michael
