I'm going to try to rewrite this. I'm going to do it for the extra-path case -- I don't really think there's a significant benefit to not having it on, and having two algorithms is confusing and causes more bugs. If people *want* to have it off, there can be an assert that extraURLPath is None (well, give a 404). We can still do caching, it'll just be a bit slower when people are actually using extraURLPath. I'll also get rid of the Main.py problem, but not add any other features.
