I am starting a new project in webware and I would like some feedback as to caching
strategies.

Right now I am using php (modified version of phpnuke.com) and mysql and making about
15 db queries per page and I am looking to
webware to reduce the database calls and clean up the code a bit.

I have a number of text blocks that are pulled from a database - some change weekly
and some can change in real time (chat room)

I can think of three caching strategies right away

1) create a python class to hold the data and save it in an application array
there was an old post about this on the mailing list
http://www.geocrawler.com/archives/3/3854/2000/8/0/4218683/

2) use the cheetah variable caching (is there a similar feature for psp?)

3) use middleKit
I am very interested in middle kit, but it seems to be undergoing some significant
activity, is it safe to use (I have 2-3
months?)
    Does middlekit provide object caching?

Ideally I'd like most of the common content to be floating in memory somewhere so it
can be slapped together into a page based on
the user, but the template caching in Cheetah seems very convienient.

Thanks,
-Aaron
