You've got to be kidding. Well, usable for editting and such... syntax highlighting and auto-indent don't work, or rather, they tend to work incorrectly. Emacs parses the Python and does stuff based on that parse. The only place this causes a problem is typically in doc strings with ''' -- it otherwise parses multiline fine. And I know I'm not alone in using Emacs, so it's not just my usability problem.
