This is one of those nebulous questions that usually get answered with another
question but here goes
anyway.
Does anyone have any memory usage statistics for working with COM and large
recordsets? I need to pull about 1Meg from a DB server
and create an Excel document. I don't have the data or the Excel doc details yet but
the client wants some HW estimate.
Client: What are the HW specs for the server?
Me: How many concurrent users do you expect?
Client: Huh?
Me: How many simultaneous users do you expect?
Client: all of them?
Me: How many clients to you have?
Client: 5-10 will be using the system initially.
Me: no problem ok
Client: But each customer can have up 6,000 users
And so it went.
Any ideas?
