I'm about to extract Cans from WebKit for various reasons. The "cans" feature lacks the kind of docs, examples and support necessary for real world use and have for some time. This isn't an attack on the Cans concept (I don't have a strong opinion there), just the status of Cans.
Furthermore, even if Cans were fully "there", they deserve their own CanKit rather than being built into WebKit. AFAIK no one is using Cans. But if you are, this is your opportunity to speak up in whatever manner you desire. I will put the extracted files and code into a tar file which you can download if you like.
