Mailman uses Pipermail (1) to convert a mailbox to threaded HTML files
using the 'mmarch' program, (2) to incrementally add messages as they
come in.  It should be simple enough to figure out what the exact
Pipermail commands are for standalone use.

Then a 'bot just needs to subscribe to the list, feed new messages to
Pipermail's incremental command, and append them to the mailbox (if
Pipermail doesn't do that itself).
