Webware requires that the AppServer stay up all the time. This is one major advantage it has over regular CGI, since it allows caching and other features. The problem is most regular webhosts will not allow you to run a process like this. Some will allow it for an extra fee, but you are limited in how much of the CPU you can take up. If you are running your own dedicated server, either at home, or through a co-location, etc, then you are free to take up as much of the CPU time as you want, and can run the AppServer. From there, you can use it with as many sites / virtual domains as you wanted, or as the processor could support. If you can't host it yourself, look for a host that will let you run processes. They will usually list things like irc bots, since those are fairly common. Or you can buy shell access from a company, and that will allow you a set number of processes. You could set up apache, the AppServer, and probably a few other small things for a reasonable monthly price. _______________________________________________ Webware-discuss mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/webware-discuss
