I followed the instructions on the wiki
(http://webware.colorstudy.net/twiki/bin/view/Webware/RunningWebwareAsUserWe
bware)
but have been unsuccessful.

I *think* that the user webware isn't allowed to open network resources, but
I'm pretty ignorant. About that kind of unix arcanum.

Here's what I see:

- If I run the webkit startup script as root (normal configuration) I get 10
threads launched, and if I do a nmap localhots -p 8000-8999, the Appserver
shows up at 8086.

- if I run the webkit startup in "webware" mode, I only get 3 or 4 threads,
and the nmap comes up with zilch (and of course, Apache can't see it
either).

Interestingly, if I try and re-run the webkit (as webware) script with the
"stop" option, it DOESN'T kill the threads... possibly also a permissions
issue.

Any insights?

Whatever we figure out should probably be added back into the wiki.

Thanks!
