Too > bad, because this kind of too would really help in complex apps. If you have it installed in XEmacs, do "meta-x speedbar". It pops up a separate pane/frame with a tree view. It can expand python files and classes. I know there was a more smalltalk-esque object browsing system for Emacs that was Python savvy, but I don't know what it was called. (The guy who developed it was a founder of BeOpen, I think, and as we all know they're long gone).
