Do you see any advantage of Spread as compared to simply programming, perhaps, a round-robin system into mod_webkit/Adapter.py (where it directs requests to different AppServers)? With the features that people have mentioned -- mostly just putting the machine in the SID so that you can use local sessions -- I don't really see any big flaw. Well, I suppose you need to deal with failures and such... but it should still be fairly simple, and at that point basically feature-complete.
