mod_fastcgi seems to be in the works ("real soon now" for the last
couple of months).
mod_python is already ported (in CVS). It also gets rid of the annoyance
of having to compile a python without threads, so it is much easier to
install than it used to be. I haven't tried to use webware's mod_python
adapter in quite a while, but it is on my todo list.
