Hi Ian, Thanks, this did the trick - I guess it should have occured to me to look at the Pickle docs rather than Webware, ah well =) You're right, servlets don't get pickled, I wasn't clear on what I was doing in my original mail. The servlet is creating these function pointers in awake(), but it's putting them into an object in the session, which does get pickled. Thanks for your time!
