I would encourage you to take initiative here if you want to (and it 
sounds like you do). I can't say that I'll be taking the lead on this 
as even that requires time that I don't have.

Certainly the advantage that these various web frameworks have is that 
they make it pretty straightforward to import a Python package and 
start cranking.

You might want to look at some of the earliest UserKit postings on this 
list, where we doing just what you describe: spec'ing out a UserKit API.

I still believe that the existing UserKit framework could be extended.
