I didn't address it there, but it would be fairly easy. The login page would embed a small form -- username and password -- that would set _action_loginUsername/_action_loginPassword. This form would be available (via some method) to any page, and so could be embedded anywhere -- or you could make your own form, just making sure to use those field names, and setting the action appropriately (i.e., to the page they are currently visiting).
