I've got a simple patch, but I was wondering when/if the next Webware release is scheduled? I'm starting to do a lot of work using Webware and maybe I could start contributing patches to the CVS tree?
There isn't a schedule for a next release, but if we get a volunteer to put
in the work to do another release, then it will happen. There hasn't been
very much Webware development recently, and we could use some new
developers. If you want CVS access, then take a look at the guidelines at
http://webware.colorstudy.com/twiki/bin/view/Webware/ DeveloperGuidelines .
Otherwise, the standard way to contribute is to submit patches to
SourceForge then hope that one of the developers eventually looks at it.
In particular, we could really use someone to just review the existing patches and bug reports on SourceForge.
What we *really* need is some tests so we know whether we are in good shape to release. That's the one most important feature we are missing, and the one that makes releases more difficult and more stressful than they should be.
There's still a bunch of other work to doing a release, document updating, reviewing version numbers and package completeness, website updating, announcements, etc... but that work is a little easier to do.
