I have been evaluating WebWare for use in a large project we're planning. Everything seems perfect the features and the cool things we can do especially XMLRPC support but it seems the Adapters used to connect your webserver with WebKit are the cause of many problems. So far I have tested WebWare on RH9.0 with Apache2 under OSX with Apache2 and under Windows XP with Apache2 in all cases it seems the adapter has caused problems.
I recently posted some issues about deadlocks on RH9 that result in the AppServer locking, the only way to "clear" this is to send multiple CTRL-Z followed by "fg" which seems to flush the buffer. Under Windows XP I have seen very regular corrupt html returned from Webware e.g here is a snip from the Colors example:
<td bgcolor=#484824> <br> <font color=white>#484824</font> </td> <td bgcol!!!484848> <br> <font color=white>#484848</font> </td> <td bgcolor=#48486d> <br> <font color=white>#48486d</font> </td>
Note the corruption is unprintable chars where I have marked "!!!"
I've seen problems on most OS's now but I'm surprised there hasn't been more people reporting problems? Should I switch to Apache 1.x or are there know issues here? If so I simply want confirmation and I'll happily start digging round the code to find the problem (I just don't want to waste time looking in the wrong place)
One interesting thing I have noticed and this could be pure coincidence but the corrupt bytes seem to have occurred on almost 1K boundaries i.e. in the last test one at 8K and one another 4K after that.
Any comments welcome if I can't resolve this problem soon I may have to use an alternative server solution and on every other respect WebWare is perfect!
