hm. it works for me. Server version: Apache/2.0.49 Server built: Jun 14 2004 20:17:24 installed from rpm on rh9.
mod_webkit.so built as explained in the README in /Webware-0.8.1/WebKit/Adapters/mod_webkit2
(we also run webkit with apache2 and mod_webkit on a suse 9.0 machine.)
