does work. problem was not webkit but the IMHO overly complicated
default server configuration which comes with SuSE starting from 9.0 i

Having created an RPM for mod_webkit2 for Mandrake, I just want to compare notes. What was so complicated about it?
what actually made me post to the list was that somebody else got mod_webkit2 to work on a SuSE machine in my organisation, and all we did was compare the /etc/apache2 directories, not finding any differences.
so it would not have been that complicated, if we had not fooled ourselves into thinking apache-config-wise everything was taken care of.
