hi,
some time ago i posted about problems getting mod_webkit2 to work with
SuSE's apache2 installation. Just wanted to inform you that it actually
does work. problem was not webkit but the IMHO overly complicated
default server configuration which comes with SuSE starting from 9.0 i
think.

Hi,

Having created an RPM for mod_webkit2 for Mandrake, I just want to compare notes. What was so complicated about it?

we just didn't read the docs on how SuSE lays out the apache 2 config. they put a big part of what typically belongs to httpd.conf in /etc/sysconfig/apache2, in particular the list of modules to load and server flags.
what actually made me post to the list was that somebody else got mod_webkit2 to work on a SuSE machine in my organisation, and all we did was compare the /etc/apache2 directories, not finding any differences.
so it would not have been that complicated, if we had not fooled ourselves into thinking apache-config-wise everything was taken care of.

robert
