I t is my understanding the 4010A will be published in the Federal Register the last week in December. Based on this, I'm curious how other payers will handle testing with the 4010 and the 4010A: * Will you support both the 4010 and 4010A during testing or will you test on the 4010A only? * If you test submitters using the 4010 and the 4010A becomes the standard in July 2003, will you re-test your submitters with the 4010A? * If so, how will you accomplish testing all submitters prior to 10/16/03? * Will payers be non-compliant if we haven't tested all submitters on the 4010A prior to 10/16/03, i.e. if the 4010A is the standard by that time?

All, I recall a CMS person at some meeting over the last few months state that the testing requirement of ASCA refers to testing with external trading partners, not internal system testing. Wes, Not as far as I know. The only thing I have ever heard was that most people kind of assume that the intention was "internal" testing (unit and system testing). Other than that, I am not aware of any clarifications. _______________________________________________ John Lilleston Technical Supervisor Verizon Information Technologies, Inc. AM Please respond to "WEDI SNIP Testing Subworkgroup List" Have we had any definition or hints from CMS on the definition of testing that meets the requirements of ASCA? --- The WEDI SNIP listserv to which you are subscribed is not moderated.
