On the CMS Website, in response to the question, Does the law require
Medicare claims to be submitted electronically after October, 2003, part
of the answer states that CMS will publish proposed regulations to
implement this new authority. Does anyone know the timeframe that CMS
anticipates for publishing the regulations? Thanks.
The last time I heard a detailed answer to this question was in March of
this year, when Stanley Nachimson said it would be out "early next year."
In more recent meetings CMS people have refused to say when but repeat they
are working "expeditiously" on such a rule.
