Hope the holidays have been great for everyone, Recently, the Testing Sub-Group has decided to pursue a survey approach towards understanding real-life problems being experienced by the Health Care community. Based on this work, we will be able to widely publish our findings, provide feedback to other existing work efforts, and discover other WEDi products that would benefit many. Our approach is to create a series of surveys that are very easy to fill out and are kept private. Each survey will build upon the findings of the previous survey. Below represents some of the initial work of the new Testing Survey Team that includes a forward written by Rachel Foerster and the proposed initial survey questions. We welcome your comments. Please keep in mind that this is the first survey of a series and you are more than welcome to join our Testing Sub-Group call this Thursday (January 2nd) at 11:00 EST where the survey will be one of several topics.
Ed Edward A. Hafner WEDi Member Chief Technology Officer Foresight Corporation +1.614.526.4328 Survey Forward: The objectives for this and subsequent surveys are: 1. Discover issues and problems currently being experienced by organizations which have begun HIPAA EDI transactions testing; 2. Identify EDI transactions testing issues and problems which are anticipated to occur during the next 3 months; 3. Provide input into other WEDi SNIP workgroups, and specifically, into a work group recently formed to investigate areas for disparate interpretation within a specific HIPAA Implementation Guide. The results of these surveys will be shared broadly with the industry. It is anticipated that the results will be used by the various WEDi SNIP workgroups to help identify additional topics for future white papers to provide guidance to the industry's efforts for mass deployment of the HIPAA electronic transactions. Lastly, survey results will be used to form the basis for input and recommendations to WEDi and other industry organizations, such as ASC X12N.
